The country’s premier institution, the Indian Military Academy (IMA), on Saturday commissioned 525 young officers into the Indian Army at the traditional Autumn 2025 Passing Out Parade (POP) held in Dehradun. The parade was reviewed by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi.

The country’s premier institution, the Indian Military Academy (IMA), on Saturday commissioned 525 young officers into the Indian Army at the traditional Autumn 2025 Passing Out Parade (POP) held in Dehradun. The parade was reviewed by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi.
The newly commissioned officers belonged to various courses, including the 157th Regular Course, 46th Technical Entry Scheme, 140th Technical Graduate Course, 55th Special Commissioned Officers Course, and the Territorial Army Online Entrance Examination 2023 Course. In addition, 34 foreign officer cadets from 14 friendly nations were also commissioned during the Autumn POP 2025.

Addressing the parade, the Reviewing Officer and Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, congratulated the officers on the successful completion of their training. He urged them to uphold the glorious traditions of the Indian Army and serve the nation with loyalty, commitment, and honour. He emphasized that commissioning into the Army is not merely the culmination of training but the beginning of a lifelong commitment to duty and selfless service to the nation.

The prestigious Sword of Honour and the Gold Medal for being first in overall order of merit were awarded to Academy Cadet Adjutant Nishkal Dwivedi. The Silver Medal was awarded to Battalion Under Officer Badal Yadav, while the Bronze Medal went to Kamaljeet Singh.
The Silver Medal for first position in the Technical Graduate Course was awarded to Officer Cadet Jadhav Sujit Sampat, and for the Technical Entry Scheme 46 to Officer Cadet Abhinav Mehrotra. The Silver Medal for the Special Commissioned Officers Course was presented to Officer Cadet Sunil Kumar Chhetri. The medal for first in merit among foreign national cadets was awarded to Junior Under Officer Mohammad Safeen Ashraf from Bangladesh.
The Chief of the Army Staff’s Banner for overall best team performance in the Autumn Term 2025 was awarded to Imphal Company of the IMA.
Earlier, proud parents, family members, and guests witnessed the highly professional and synchronized march-past by the newly commissioned officers, which culminated in the traditional ‘Antim Pag’ (Last Step).
As the young officers stepped forward with a resolve to serve the nation, they were welcomed with a shower of rose petals by Indian Army helicopters over the Drill Square in front of the historic Chetwode Hall at the IMA.
